Experience the Challenge Experience the Leadership

ExCEL, with its ropes course, climbing tower and other activities, is an adventure into self-confidence, clearer communication and new perspectives.

ExCEL:

  • teaches trust in self and others.
  • develops team players and spirit.
  • increases motivation and personal performance.
  • provides experiential, effective communication.
  • offers a greater appreciation and awareness of the relationship between people and the environment.

You don't need to be an athlete or thrill seeker to take part in ExCEL.

All you need is a positive attitude, comfortable outdoor clothing and an open mind.

All equipment is provided.

This isn't your typical workshopPicture of people in circle participating in choreographed movement.

ExCEL uses dynamic outdoor activities to translate leadership skills immediately into real-life situations.

All persons, eight grade and up, are invited to challenge themselves in a safe environment, develop critical problem solving skills and discover the value of working with others to achieve goals.

Participants are guided through the program by University of Arkansas educators who are experienced in working with youths and adults.

ExCEL can be used to compliment traditional education.  It is a great leadership building activity for schools, youth organizations and church groups.  ExCEL also fosters valuable life skills including problem solving, communication and personal growth.  Through the day-long experience, the students' self-esteem and trust in others will grow.

- Julie Stroud, Middle School Counselor,

"The ropes course was challenging, but I learned a lot about myself.  It was a fun way to learn.  I would recommend going on the ropes course - even if you are afraid of heights."
