ExCEL - Leadership and Teambuilding
In-Service Training
The current frameworks and in-service training requirements have increased training
needs. ExCEL (Experience the Challenge Experience the Leadership), a program of
the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, offers a program at
the Arkansas 4-H Center focused on teambuilding and leadership. With the in-service
requirements for your teachers in mind, we have formatted programming to focus
on the frameworks. Our training areas include:
Advocacy/Leadership
Supervision
Mentoring/Coaching
Building a Collaborative Learning Community (Career Academy)
Instructional Leadership
ExCEL has provided experiential training since 1986 to youth, adult focused
non-profit, and corporate groups. We utilize experiential training methods to
provide an effective environment for change. Some of the training tools used
by ExCEL are:
- Ground based initiatives (Experiential activities that do not involve leaving
the ground)
- Progressive Team Challenge (low ropes course)
- Team Rock Climbing (Artificial rock climbing tower that requires a team to
operate)
- High Ropes Course
To accommodate your school and your in-service training schedule and needs
we can bring the program to you or have teachers and/or administrators attend
training at the 4-H Center. We have also dedicated two dates as open enrollment
for individual teacher in-service days.
